Frequently Asked Questions:
What are the typical tasks of an elderly care helper?
a. Typical responsibilities include:
- Assisting with mobility and fall prevention
- Helping with personal hygiene (e.g. showering, dressing)
- Preparation meals and feeding, including administering medication
- General housekeeping, such as cooking and cleaning
What kind of sicknesses and disabilities are your helpers trained to handle?
a. Our helpers are trained to care for elderly individuals with dementia, Parkinson’s, stroke recovery, etc. Let us know your specific needs, and we’ll recommend a suitable match.
Have your helpers undergone training for elderly care?
a. We have a diverse pool of helpers, each with different levels of experience, skills, and certifications in elderly care. Based on your needs, we’ll help match you with a suitable candidate. If additional training is preferred, you may consider sending your selected helper for relevant courses.
What languages do your helpers speak? What if my parent only speaks Mandarin/Malay/etc.?
a. Our helpers come from diverse backgrounds and can communicate in various languages such as Mandarin, Cantonese, Malay, Tamil, and others. Let us know your household’s language preference, and we’ll do our best to match you with someone who can communicate comfortably with your family. While fluency levels may vary, we’ll help you find the best possible fit.
Newborn and Childcare
Welcoming a newborn or managing a growing family is a joyous but demanding time. Our helpers are experienced, patient, and skilled in childcare, giving you the peace of mind to focus on what matters most—your family.
What We Offer:
- Helpers with experience in newborn care, including feeding, bathing, and sleep routines.
- Support for families with multiple children, ensuring a balanced and harmonious home.
- Coaching for parents on how to build a positive relationship with their helper.
Frequently Asked Questions:
How is hiring a helper different from getting a babysitter?
a. While a babysitter focuses mainly on watching your child for a few hours, a helper is trained to take on a broader range of responsibilities—including childcare, cooking, cleaning, and other household chores.
I already have a helper with me. Can I hire an additional one to take care of my infant or child?
a. Yes, you can hire a second migrant domestic worker if you meet any of the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) criteria:
- You or your spouse is at least 60 years of age.
- You have at least two children below 18 years old and living with you.
- You have a parent or parent-in-law aged 60 years old or above living with you.
Can my helper care for my child at another location, such as my parents’ home, without my supervision?
a. Yes, but you must notify MOM and follow specific guidelines:
- Your helper must agree to the arrangement in writing
- She cannot be performing the full load of housework in both households
- If she stays overnight, her accommodations must meet these requirements.
Pet Care
Your furry friends are part of the family, and they deserve the best care too. Our reliable and caring helpers are trained to look after your pets, ensuring they are happy, healthy, and well-cared for.
What We Offer:
- Helpers who are experienced in pet care, including feeding, grooming, and exercise.
- Customized care plans to meet the unique needs of your pets.
- Peace of mind knowing your pets are in safe hands.
Frequently Asked Questions:
How do I prepare my pet for the arrival of my helper?
a. Start with a gentle introduction—allow your pet to approach the helper at their own pace in a calm environment.
b. Gradually increase the time they spend together.
c. It’s also helpful to brief your helper on your pet’s routines, personality, and quirks.
What should I do if my pet has a difficult temperament (e.g. aggressive or anxious)?
a. Please inform us and your helper in advance about your pet’s behavior.
b. If your pet has severe aggression or anxiety, we recommend consulting a vet or animal behaviorist to ensure everyone’s safety and comfort.
What animals are your helpers qualified to care for?
a. A number of our helpers have varying experience with pets, including dogs, cats, and other animals. We’ll recommend profiles that align with your household needs. If specific pet care knowledge is required, you may choose to send the helper for additional training.
Can the helper assist with grooming, walks, or vet visits?
a. Some helpers may have experience with pet grooming, daily walks, or accompanying pets to the vet, depending on their previous household exposure. If these are important tasks in your home, let us know and we’ll do our best to recommend profiles that match those needs. Not all helpers are trained in pet handling, so additional guidance or training may still be required.
Household Management
Running a home smoothly takes more than just routine chores—it takes foresight, coordination, and a sharp eye for detail. Our helpers are trained to be the silent engine behind a well-managed household, keeping everything in order so you don’t have to sweat the small stuff.
What We Offer:
- Helpers skilled in housekeeping, grocery planning, and meal preparation.
- Scheduling and coordination of household tasks to keep your home running like clockwork.
- A clean, organized space where everything has its place—and peace of mind is the norm.
Frequently Asked Questions:
What are the tasks typically included under household management?
a. Household management duties often include:
- Meal preparation
- General cleaning
- Laundry and ironing
- Grocery shopping and restocking household essentials
Does the helper have experience managing large households or families with children?
a. Most of our helpers are trained and experienced in supporting busy households, including those with young children or elderly family members. Let us know your household size and specific needs so we can recommend the most suitable match.
Can the helper coordinate with other service providers (e.g. repairmen)?
a. Yes, some helpers are confident in liaising with other service providers like electricians or delivery personnel. This often depends on their communication skills and prior experience. Share your requirements with us, and we’ll find someone equipped for the role.
What level of independence and decision-making can I expect from the helper in managing my home?
a. Most of our helpers are trained to carry out household tasks independently, with minimal supervision.
